Bringing a 1928 Style Four back to life

Gibson Style 41928This beautiful prewar Gibson banjo came to my shop for a careful evaluation and some much needed TLC. Nearly a century old, it carries a wonderful sense of history along with the distinctive voice and character that make these early Gibson banjos so special. My goal was to listen closely to both the instrument and the player, then make the careful adjustments needed to bring everything back into balance. By improving its tone, response, tuning stability, intonation, and playability, I could help this remarkable old banjo feel and sound its best while preserving everything that makes it uniquely its own.See the Full Story
